From Ali and and Carl's proposal story
Ali and I had a trip planned to the Saints play in New Orleans. Ahead of the trip I sent the engagement ring to the husband of one of her best friends from Loyola that we'd be meeting with. On the first night of the trip, we met with two of her best friends and their spouses for dinner. During dinner, I covertly received the ring from her friend and we planned to go to City Park after dinner and some drinks for the proposal. When we eventually go to the park, we stopped at a pavillion lined with columns and some lion statues. Ali decided that it was a good time to climb on top of one of the statues while myself and the others took note of the half circle of rose petals that were left in the pavillion from a wedding earlier that evening. After assisting Ali off the statue, we all took couple's photos. Ali and I went last. When she thought we were done with photos, I pulled her back for one more, dropped on one knee and proposed.
