Mentorship for the Modern Photographer

Elevating your artistry and business with 16 years of international experience.

Over the past 16 years, I've photographed 350+ weddings across the DMV and destinations including Hawaii, the Bahamas, Texas, and Florida, plus couples and editorial work from Italy to Ireland to Seoul, Korea. I've organized a wedding photography conference in Hawaii alongside legends like Susan Stripling and Two Mann Studios, and been featured in Susan's education on business growth. Whether you're shooting your first wedding or ready to expand internationally, I offer personalized mentorship covering the technical skills, creative vision, and business strategies I've developed over 16 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is this mentorship for?

A: These offerings are designed for photographers at all stages - whether you're just starting in wedding photography, established but looking to break into the luxury DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia market, or ready to expand to destination work. I tailor each session to your current skill level and specific goals, so you get exactly what you need to move forward.

Q: I'm not in the DMV area - can I still work with you?

A: Absolutely! Virtual mentorship sessions work perfectly for photographers anywhere in the world. The in-person option is specifically for photographers in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland who can meet locally, but all other offerings (virtual mentorship, business consulting, and portfolio review) are conducted via video call and have worked wonderfully for photographers across the country and internationally.

Q: How do I know which offering is right for me?

A: Portfolio Review is perfect if you want focused feedback on your images without a larger commitment. Virtual Mentorship is ideal for technical skills, creative development, and venue strategies. Business Consulting focuses purely on growing and scaling your business. In-Person Mentorship is for local photographers who prefer face-to-face intensive learning. Still unsure? Contact me and we'll figure out the best fit for your goals.

Q: What's your teaching style?

A: I believe in honest, constructive feedback delivered with encouragement and practical action steps. Having organized conferences with industry legends and mentored numerous photographers, I've learned that the best education is personalized, judgment-free, and focused on what YOU need - not a one-size-fits-all approach. I'm here to share what I've learned from 350+ weddings, not gatekeep information.

Q: How do I prepare for a mentorship session?

A: Once you book, I'll send a pre-session questionnaire to understand your goals, challenges, and current skill level. For portfolio reviews, you'll submit 20-30 images beforehand. For other sessions, come prepared with specific questions or topics you want to cover - the more specific you are about what you want to learn, the more value you'll get from our time together.

Q: Do you offer payment plans or refunds?

A: Multi-session packages can be paid in installments (50% upfront, remainder before the final session). Single sessions are paid in full at booking. Due to the personalized nature of these offerings and the time I invest in preparation, all sales are final. However, we can reschedule sessions with 48 hours notice if something comes up.
