Experience Guide

Most couples come to me saying the same thing:

"We want it to feel real."

What they don't always realize is that the breathtaking editorial portraits they've saved to their inspiration boards? Those moments aren't manufactured — they're drawn out. The difference between a photograph that looks forced and one that stops you cold is the photographer standing behind the camera, and whether they know how to create the conditions where you forget the camera exists entirely.

That's the work I've spent 16 years perfecting — from Capitol Hill ceremonies and Maryland estate weddings to award-winning wedding photography in Hawaii and destination sessions across Italy, Ireland, and South Korea.

What to expect working with jenna leigh

your vision, not a template

Every relationship I build with a couple starts the same way: a conversation. Before I ever pick up a camera, I want to understand who you are together — your energy, your aesthetic, the moments you want to remember forever. That discovery call shapes everything. Whether you're planning an intimate DC elopement, a grand Maryland Manor wedding, a Northern Virginia vineyard celebration, or a destination wedding abroad, your gallery should feel undeniably, unmistakably you — not a beautiful but generic version of someone else's day.

present,

not performing

Your wedding day shouldn't feel like a photo shoot. My approach is deliberately calm and unobtrusive — I move through your day like a guest who happens to carry a camera, watching for the grandmother's embrace before you even notice it's happening, reading the room during toasts, positioned exactly where the light and emotion converge before the moment arrives. You stay fully present. I handle the rest.

When we do step away for portraits, think of it less as "posing" and more as playing. I'll have you walking, laughing, dancing badly, running toward golden hour. The images that come from those ten minutes are the ones that end up framed above mantles.

keeping forever

Your gallery is delivered as a hand-edited collection — every image chosen and refined with intention, not just exported in bulk. Beyond the digital gallery, I offer heirloom albums, fine art prints, and wall installations designed to live in your home for generations. Because the best Washington DC wedding photography deserves better than sitting unseen in a cloud folder.

GUIDING YOU TOWARDS AUTHENTIC MOMENTS

Throughout much of the wedding day, I assume a more unobtrusive stance, capturing candid moments shared among the couples and their friends and family. Whether it's the warm embrace with a grandmother or the heartfelt tears of a parent, my presence is dedicated to immortalizing these profoundly beautiful moments.

As we transition to the portrait time, envision me as a director and storyteller. My affinity for movement often leads to suggestions for dancing, strolling, skipping, or even joyfully running into the embrace of a setting sun.

I love photographing shared laughter that characterizes your unique bond. I am equally enamored by those serene, romantic interludes that eloquently convey the intimate love shared between partners.

"Captured our engagement and big day perfectly!

End the stress of looking for one because if you're reading this, you've found her!"

I. the consultation

We meet on Zoom — no pressure, no sales pitch. Just a real conversation where I learn about your wedding and you get to decide whether I'm the right fit. I work with couples across the entire DMVDC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia — as well as those planning destination weddings domestically and internationally. Chemistry matters. This is a two-way audition.

II. Reserve your date

This is where the magic of working together starts. An engagement session isn't just about getting beautiful photos — it's about getting comfortable in front of my camera so that by the time your wedding day arrives, you're not thinking about the camera at all. The DMV has incredible engagement session locations — from the monuments at golden hour to the Blue Ridge foothills — and I'll help you find the perfect spot. I'll help with outfit ideas every step of the way too.

III. Engagement session

Once we're both excited to work together, we lock in your date with a signed contract and retainer. You exhale. You're taken care of.

IV. Timeline planning

I've built countless DC, Maryland, and Virginia wedding timelines. I know exactly how long family formals actually take, where golden hour falls at your venue in October, and how to build in breathing room so the day doesn't feel rushed. Whether you have a planner or not, I'll make sure the photography timeline is airtight. For destination weddings, I handle all pre-travel coordination and venue scouting so nothing is left to chance.

V. Wedding Day

Everything we've planned comes to life. I show up ready, positioned, and completely focused on you — whether that's in Georgetown, the Shenandoah Valley, the beaches of Hawaii, or a vineyard in the Italian countryside.

VI. your gallery

Within 72 hours, a curated sneak peek lands in your inbox — because the anticipation is real and you've earned it. Your full, hand-edited gallery follows within 8-12 weeks: every image sequenced and refined to tell the complete story of your day.
