I'm Jenna Leigh — based in New Market, Maryland, between DC and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Over 16 years and 350+ weddings, I've photographed celebrations from Hawaii to Korea to every corner of this region, and that depth of experience shows up in ways couples don't always expect:

I know how light moves through a Loudoun vineyard at golden hour, how to navigate a multi-venue DC wedding day without losing a frame, and how the Chesapeake waterfront at dusk requires an entirely different approach than a grand Maryland estate at noon.

My style is vibrant and true-to-life — clean, bright images that look exactly like your wedding day felt, not filtered or faded into a trend that won't age well.

Across the DMV, couples choose me because I bring the same level of preparation and craft whether we're at a Potomac estate, a Northern Virginia vineyard, or a waterfront resort on the Bay.

Beyond the Beltway

One of the most dramatically situated estates in the DMV — Oxon Hill Manor is a 1928 Georgian Revival mansion perched on a bluff above the Potomac. Formal terraced gardens, sweeping river views, and interiors that photograph with genuine grandeur.

Beyond the Beltway

A 19th-century estate tucked into the Virginia countryside near the Rappahannock River. Great Marsh combines weathered brick manor architecture with expansive grounds, formal gardens, and waterfront access - a venue that rewards a photographer who knows how to use all of it.

Beyond the Beltway

A working vineyard and winery tucked into the rolling fields of Fauquier County, an hour southwest of DC. Morais Vineyards combines European-inspired architecture with open Virginia countryside — barrel rooms, stone terraces, and vineyard rows that catch the late afternoon light in a way that's hard to replicate anywhere else.

FAQ

Q: Who are the best wedding photographers in the DMV?

A: The best DMV wedding photographers combine regional expertise with verifiable credentials and a style that holds up over time. Look for recognition from organizations that judge on merit — ISPWP membership requires a minimum of 50 weddings, a full portfolio review, and a vote by current members. Fearless Photographers recognizes fewer than 1–3% of submitted images per round. The Knot Hall of Fame requires winning Best of Weddings at least four times based solely on verified couple reviews. Jenna Leigh Photography holds all three.

Q: How do I find the best wedding photographer in the DC area?

A: Start by looking for photographers who work regularly across the full DC metro — not just inside the District. The DC area spans Northern Virginia wine country, Maryland waterfront venues, and everything in between. Ask to see complete galleries from venues similar to yours, not just curated highlights. A photographer who has shot 20 weddings at your venue type knows things about that space that simply can't be replicated by someone who hasn't.

Q: How far in advance should I book a DMV wedding photographer?

A: Most DMV couples book 12–18 months out, with popular spring and fall dates filling earliest across all three markets. Peak dates at Virginia vineyard venues and Maryland waterfront properties move just as quickly as DC hotel dates — if you have a specific venue or date in mind, it's worth reaching out sooner rather than later.

Q: What should I look for in a DMV wedding photographer's style?

A: Look for a style that will hold up over decades, not just trend well right now. A large portion of the DMV market shoots moody, desaturated, film-inspired work that dates quickly. Vibrant, true-to-life images — clean, bright, and color-accurate — age far better. Your florals should look like your florals, your venue should look like your venue, and the light should look like the light actually looked that day.

Q: Do you cover weddings across all of DC, Maryland, and Virginia?

A: Yes — the full DMV corridor is my primary market. That includes Washington DC venues from Georgetown to the Navy Yard, Northern Virginia from Alexandria to Loudoun County wine country, and Maryland from the DC suburbs to the Chesapeake Bay. I'm based in New Market, Maryland, which puts me within an hour of most DMV venues.

Q: Is it worth hiring a DMV wedding photographer with specific venue experience?

A: Venue experience matters — but what you're really paying for is adaptability across venue types. A photographer who has worked extensively across DC ballrooms, Virginia estates, and Maryland waterfront properties understands how light and logistics differ between them. After 16 years and 350+ weddings across the DMV, that preparation translates directly into better images regardless of whether I've shot your specific venue before.
